Huge improvement from my original 5700X, in tandem with the 4080S it works absolutely great - in my opinion you don't even need such graphics to benefit from 3D V-chache, on the contrary it's very easy to get into CPU-bottleneck when using DLSS or FSR. Games I was used to having perfect Avg. FPS, but the bad 0.1% and thus my stutters are wonderfully smooth now. A perfect example is Cyberpunk, where I now have 3-4FPS lower Min FPS compared to Avg FPS.

This processor really is a beast. It will bring extra power. As for temperatures, it depends on how lucky you are in the silicon lottery. The high temperatures of this processor are notorious, so it's not really a case of anyone doing anything wrong (not that that's not an option either). Air cooling will still do the trick, water would be better. I had the following highest temperatures in KCD2, 2K resolution and high details after 10 minutes of walking around the center of Kutná Hora: Base: 95° Undervoltage -23: 84.5° (150-170 FPS) Subvoltage -23 + FPS limit 144: 76.6° Combined with NH-D15 cooler, RTX 4070 Ti, Kingston Fury 32GB 6000 MHz. I think I was rather unlucky in the lottery, hence the high temperatures. For example, a lot of people have undervoltage at -30 and get to even better temperatures, in my case at -24, I have already failed the stress test. Then there are people who don't have to do anything and the temperatures are fine. and then there are people who have super temperatures but unknowingly reduced performance due to bad settings in the BIOS (motherboard error, not user error). Good luck in the silicon lottery!
Compared to the i5-12600K incredible difference. An extra 30-60 FPS is fine. Depends on the game.
