In my experience apple is no better in terms of bugs than android, linux and windows. Before apple I used a combination of sony wh-1000xm 3rd and 4th generation headphones with google pixel 4. Now I use a combination of iphone 13 with airpods for 2nd and 1st generation and macbook for M1. The features are significantly less reliable than non-apple devices, I find it absurd to hear "it just works" and "it works seamlessly". I see the positive reviews of apple products as the result of marketing massage by apple. Now(18. 11. 2022) noise cancelling and ambient mode stopped working. which is why I'm taking a star off the review. I'll reset to factory settings again and just hope the problem doesn't return. With frequent use, it is a daily occurrence that some headphones do not work after removal from the case, which must be reinserted into the case to recover. also sometimes the sound starts to rattle and the rattle gets worse within a few minutes to an unlistenable state, for this problem I found that just taking it out of the ear for a while is enough to solve it. Maybe the problems will improve, just like they solved the almost daily system crash(kernel panic) on mbp for m1 after a few months. But in my experience it solves about 20% of the bugs I'm dealing with, so I'm not hoping for anything. If that happens, I'll add stars. 2 is for nc and sound. If it wasn't for the unreliability I wouldn't let this device go, just like the rest of the apple products. If everything works as it should, there is no competition.

sometimes the headphones do not respond, usually solved by putting them in the case, sometimes it helps to connect the case to the charger (while the headphones are 100% charged), which in some places is not possible
sometimes the sound starts to rattle strangely and the headphones have to be put in the case for a while
the mobile often shows the output to the headphones but the sound plays on the mobile, which is really annoying and I am forced to check it before each turn on music or youtube to avoid drawing unnecessary attention to myself. I have to switch the output to the mobile and then switch to the headphones, which usually fixes it. Yeah, well, that solution might not work either. once it happened to me that the output did not switch until iphone(13) restarted. I mean, isn't that a bit much? It doesn't work to fix a broken thing. It looks like a B-grade product to me. Is this a standard nowadays which I noticed only on the applu or is it an applu problem? Where is the proverbial "it just works" and "it works seamlessly".
update 18. 11. 2022: noise cancelling and ambient mode stopped working, it's too much for me. I'm getting used to the fact that on apple products not only do basic functions work unreliably but from time to time they stop working altogether and the solution requires a factory reset. Therefore, I am removing 1 star.
during music playback, they often rattle sound as if they have lost signal. E.g. while walking. It's nothing to live with but compared to the google pixel/sony wh-1000xm 3rd and 4th generation it's something I'm not used to. These airpods snore at least 10 times more often.
automatic ear detection is a strangely designed feature. Removing the headphone stops the music/video and at the same time the audio output is automatically selected. This should be two functions, not one. I want to activate automatic output change but deactivate sound pausing. Typically when my ear hurts from wearing them for a long time I take off one earphone, for example in bed. Another thing is that disabling this feature probably causes a bug with the output, where the mobile shows the headphone output but actually plays the audio on the mobile. Sometimes the automatic output selection works and sometimes it doesn't, it's about a 50:50 chance, it will be a problem I will probably never be able to fix.
