When the noise cancellation (ANC) is switched on, the headphones make a beeping sound. The problem is that the sound is as loud as the current headphone volume setting, so when the music is playing at "full blast" and you turn on the ANC, the beep will nearly shatter your eardrums and burn a hole in your head.
