I choose the S26 (without plus and without ultra) mainly because of its dimensions, which can still be described as compact compared to other phones. Perhaps it is the size that affects the battery life, which pleasantly surprised me compared to the S23. I don't have a comparison to the S24 or S25, but going over the S23 I can definitely recommend the purchase.

I've been looking for a replacement for the five-year-old Samsung S21 and after the unveiling of the Samsung S26 specs, I was pretty disappointed. The last major camera upgrade was with the S22, charging went from 20W to 25W in 5 years. I compared with Xiaomi 17 (better camera, bigger flashlight, up to 100W charging) and Google Pixel 10 Pro (better camera, bigger flashlight, 30W charging). I deliberately left out Apple, even though I like their phones, but I use the Google ecosystem and I don't want to change that. In the end, Samsung won for me again, but not because I was somehow impressed by its parameters, but because of its compactness, One UI superstructure and overall system tuning, which is simply better compared to the competition. Otherwise, of course, it is still a great phone and a big upgrade for me when moving from the S21, but in my opinion Samsung just overslept for 2026.

I chose this mobile as it is one of the smallest and lightest android. There is not much competition in this category. I'm switching from the S22, so I mostly appreciate the bigger battery and newer design. Slightly larger dimensions are tolerable. It hurts a lot that after five years there are still the same cameras and charging only at 25 W. And bleutooth only 5.4 (Ultra has 6.0). But I decided again for Samsung, because OneUI suits me. No need for a launcher for customization, Good Lock is sufficient. Duplication of applications can be easily resolved by uninstalling them. Plus, I like Samsung Keyboard and Messages better than Google's.
