When pouring more rapidly, the water hits the mesh and splashes a little bit in a different direction than where you originally aim. Personally, I wouldn't even need that net in there. It is a kettle with sophisticated functions and elegant design. I definitely recommend it especially to families who appreciate the adjustable temperature and practical volume.
