First day of Xiaomi 14 Ultra experience, switching from SONY Xperia 1 IV (similar purchase price 3 years ago with inflation factored in), so hopefully I'll get used to it. The photos from the main lens are not that different, but there is a marked improvement in the wide-angle, both telephoto and macro photos. SONY's adaptation of Android 14 was better.

I've bought this phone for my wife as a gift, she hates iPhones. She's excited! She's old Samsung S21+ can't even comprehend with this brand new Xiaomi 14 Ultra! Camera is amazing! But the first one thing you need to do after buying, you need to disable HDR! Because HDR works just terrible, but it enabled by default! You can find many reviews on the internet about how fast this phone and camera compares, but I decided to make my own little compare with iPhone 13 Pro, because most of reviews only take photos with HDR. So you can see these photos below. And you know what? I think iPhone looks more aesthetic, but Xiaomi is closer to what human eyes see. To me it makes sense to buy this phone as replacement of your older phone, but it depends, of course.
