We got the watch for our son (7 years old) because he wanted to start going out on his own to the playground, but we can't see it. So we were looking for a watch with GPS location, which this one does. For the GPS to work properly, it must have a sim card with mobile data in it. The Pote works by determining position fairly accurately to within a few meters (+/- 5-10 meters) and also shows whether the child is at rest or in motion. I really appreciate this feature most of all. The voice messages also work great, which my son uses just outside on the playground. We don't even have to make a phone call. I'll record a "come to lunch" message, and he'll be home soon: -) The camera and camera functions will be appreciated by those who want to see their child. The camera is for the kids when they want to take a picture of something in the surroundings and they sure have a lot of fun with it. The watch is in English only (which I don't consider a minus even with kids these days) The watch doesn't have a listening feature, but we weren't looking for such a feature and didn't want it either (I find that bizarre, especially at an older age and it doesn't respect privacy). Overall, we are satisfied with the watch, except for one quite crucial thing, because of which I am still considering returning/recommending (maybe it is just a defect in our piece) - the watch sometimes turns off the display and cannot be turned on by touch: -/ You need to either put it on the charger (a short pulse is enough to wake it up) or press the reset button on the bottom of the watch. Both options are not very feasible (the child will not carry the charger with him all the time, and there would be no place to plug it into the socket on the playground, and in the case of the button - pressing it is difficult even for an adult, it must be done with a fingernail and with sufficient force). It's a safety mechanism so that the child doesn't turn the watch off by himself (I understand and appreciate), but in combination with the spontaneous popping of the display, it's really a bummer. So, as I wrote, I'm considering a complaint. It doesn't happen often, I estimate max. Once a week, maybe not even that. Otherwise, overall, the hofinks are really functional and fulfill why we bought them. My son is thrilled and has worn them every day for the third month.
