Ceramic Kettles

Ceramic kettles are about the nostalgia and their rustic design tends to invoke the memories of your grandmother’s tea kettle. Nevertheless, they are also modern appliances, featuring a range of advanced features and functions. The ceramic material is durable and harmless, insulates heat well, and can keep water almost at the boiling point for quite a while after boiling. You can choose from several retro-inspired designs.

What ceramic kettle should I choose?

Consider the kettle capacity

Ceramic kettles are usually rather compact and have a capacity of about 1 l. But if you happen to like holding tea parties for the whole family on a regular basis, we recommend choosing a larger kettle at least 1.5 l in volume, whether made of ceramic or some other material.

One litre of water gives you 4-5 typical cups of tea or coffee.

Why does the wattage matter?

Generally, the higher the wattage, the faster the water is heated. Of course, higher wattage also means proportionally higher power consumption. For ceramic kettles, their wattage typically ranges from 1 500 W to 1850 W.

Boil only as much water as you really need. It saves both time and money.

Heating coil types

Unlike the other kettle types, the vast majority of ceramic kettles has a concealed heating coil. This makes the appliance easier to maintain and clean. On the downside, boiling water takes slightly longer.

Additional features

  • Filter - captures mineral deposits, limescale and various impurities when pouring boiled water. There are fixed and removable filters. Removable filters are easy to wash, but some kettles still have a fixed filter.
  • Swivel base - greatly increases user comfort. You can place the kettle on the base however you want and it will work.
  • Water temperature control - useful if you want to serve premium teas and coffees. As a rule, you can choose from a temperature range of 70-100 °C.
  • Dry boil prevention - protects the device from damage. The kettle shuts off automatically when empty.

Limescale build-up is easy to deal with if you have the right cleaning accessories.
