The C2 label is an identification marking that confirms a drone meets the technical requirements for Class C2 under European Union rules. Drones in this class have a maximum take-off mass of up to 4 kg. Thanks to this label, the pilot can fly the drone in the so-called "open" A2 operational category, which in practice means it is possible to fly closer to people while maintaining a safe horizontal distance, but not directly over uninvolved persons. To fly such a drone, the pilot must have passed a competency examination that qualifies them for operation in this category. The drone itself must be equipped with safety features, such as a low-speed mode or a remote identification system.
