NFC Filament

NFC stands for "Near Field Communication," a technology that enables wireless data transfer over short distances. In the context of 3D printing, it facilitates the wireless transmission of information between a filament spool and the printer. The spool is equipped with a small chip, known as an NFC tag, which carries data about the material, such as its type, color, manufacturer, and sometimes the remaining quantity. Once such a spool is inserted into a compatible printer, the printer automatically reads the data from the chip and sets the correct printing parameters itself, for instance, the nozzle and bed temperatures. This simplifies print preparation and reduces the risk of errors caused by incorrect manual settings.
