When choosing a digital SLR camera body, think about what brand you choose

Remember that when choosing a digital SLR camera you are getting the whole package (Lenses, Photo Accessories etc.). Each manufacturer offers accessories that are only compatible with its brand of cameras. Therefore moving to another manufacturer, might not be so simple.

If you are thinking about upgrading your current model digital SLR camera and you have all the necessary equipment, the purchase of a separate body might be the right choice. In contrast, the novice photographer should select the preferred kits SLR lens.

What is required for the housing?

The self-contained housing comes without a lens and cannot therefore capture any images. You must buy lenses separately. Before you buy, think about which photographs you want to capture and adjust the selection accordingly.

To take pictures, you must have a memory card . Remember to check what memory card is compatible with your camera and how much capacity you need. If you plan to shoot video, a fast card with large memory is suitable.

Important parametres

Each model features different parameters to help you choose the right one.

• Sensor Size - is closely related to image quality. Generally, the larger the sensor, the higher the resulting image quality and less noise.
• Sensor resolution - high resolution does not necessarily mean that your photos will be better. In practice, the pixel size and sensitivity does. The larger the pixels, the better the information they provide.
• The sensitivity of the sensor - indicated value in units of ISO. In practice, this means how much the sensor will react to incident light. But with higher sensitivity, the amount of noise is increased which can degrade the photo.
• Shutter speed - the length of time when the film or digital sensor inside the camera is exposed to light known as "exposure time". A long exposure time causes blurring of the subject. Conversely, the shorter the exposure time, the more action you can capture.
• The number of frames per second - standard cameras are able to capture 3 to 5 frames per second. A professional can handle up to 10 frames per second, which are used predominantly by photojournalists.
• Weight - this parameter is up to the personal discretion of the photographer. Heavier body brings better stability, but trying to endure the whole day with one will ensure a nice physique.
