NVLink Version

The NVLink version refers to a generation of technology from NVIDIA that serves to directly connect multiple Graphics Processing Units (GPUs). This connection creates a very fast communication path, allowing graphics cards to share data and memory much more efficiently than would be possible via a standard computer bus, such as PCIe. In the context of artificial intelligence, where computations require immense performance and access to large amounts of data, connecting multiple GPUs via NVLink allows for the creation of a single virtual, much more powerful accelerator. The version number, such as "NVLink 3.0" or "4.0", indicates which new generation it is. Each newer version typically offers higher data transfer speeds, meaning that connected graphics cards can exchange information faster and thus shorten the time required for training complex AI models.
