I think this is gonna be a little longer. But I believe that, like me, you don't buy the TV for a year or two, but for at least five. So I hope you appreciate that.
Like honestly - if a new TV, Samsung or LG. These two brands have been leading for a long time and there is no point in arguing otherwise. And I'm Team Samsung. I have a very specific relationship with Samsung, because I am a long-time apologist and their efforts to elevate their phones and tablets above Apple products cause me maximum amusement. I wouldn't buy a phone or tablet from them (because Android), but when it comes to TV or audio tech, I'm a loyal customer and I have absolutely nothing to complain about in that regard.
Well, what do you want to know? The picture is an absolute beauty. 4K OLED, colourful, sharp, just a joy to behold. Even with 144hz game mode. There's just nothing to fault with that. Q-Symphony is also a great feature. If you also have a Samsung soundbar, the Q-Symphony uses both its and the built-in speakers to enhance the audio experience and I have to admit, it doesn't sound bad at all. It's really turning my living room into a little movie theater.
I'm not going to go into all the details here, I'll keep it short. This TV has a beautiful sharp picture and surprisingly, SOUND! Yes, I have a home theater, but I tried the TV without it and was very pleasantly surprised by how it sounded. Today's TVs already count on you hooking up a system to them and so they just sound like shit. But not this one, there really was an attempt at some nice quality sound delivery.
And the cons? Well, they are.
The first is controversial because it is also a plus. Thickness.
All the technology is housed in the base at the bottom of the TV and the rest is just the screen. Which is awfully cool, it's awfully thin and beautiful and cool and. FOR SURE!: -D
Honestly, it's so thin I was almost afraid to touch it. It's pretty hard to get out of the box and overall handling is quite difficult. Not to mention that when you plug it in, you'll find that the picture isn't quite to the edges anyway. So the space that is not used could be filled with a thicker frame. At least I'd be afraid to pick it up: -D
Another minus for me is the OS. I had an older version of Tizen on my previous TV, and frankly, it suited me better. It's hard to describe in what way, but stupidly, it was more televisual. That's probably also because the TV came with a classic remote control. The current one seems too minimalist to me.
At the same time, it is fair to admit that I use the system here only minimally, because I have an Apple TV connected to my TV and I use it for all smart functions. So maybe I could get used to it. But it's different than the previous version and for me a little less clear.
But that's really just small stuff. If you've read this all the way to the end, you already know if this TV is what you're looking for. And if you're looking for a gorgeous 4K display, absolutely!
