connecting the laptop to the 1440 x 900 monitor without a problem
thanks to the nuts on the cable screws it holds and does not fall out
heats up slightly, but I don't consider that a defect - to this extent

Connecting a new laptop to an older VGA monitor works for about half an hour. After that, the laptop restarts repeatedly. This reduction is unusable.

It works even on a relatively old monitor, but it does not offer the current resolution of the image and thus the image on the monitor is partially shifted, but this is not such a problem due to only occasional use of the monitor.
Definitely a savings over buying a new monitor.
