I was buying the black colour and the CS version arrived (first two letters in the serial number). I can't evaluate the sound yet, it's a gift. From what I've tracked down on the internet, there are several versions (depending on the factory) that differ in bass/midrange/treble presentation, water resistance, and ability to float. They also differ a bit in design and have different speakers. But the manufacturer boasts that all versions should play the same. GG and CS versions should be able to float on water, CS is fully waterproof, TL does not float. I don't know about the others. GG is supposed to have the best sound. - The CS has bass gaps and has weird mids, but has more bass than the TL - GG sounds clean and the bass is deep - TL distorts and has very little bass and treble - CN sounds muddy and has very unnerving mids, but has good bass response - TT has very clean mids but very slightly has more bass than TL but the highs are almost completely absent - GT has the best mids and bass is similar to GG's bass, but a bit harsh

I bought this baby about 14 days ago after reading reviews of all similarly priced speakers (I had a range of 1500 - 3000) and finally picked this one. I don't regret a penny. I took the Sony SRS XB23 with it straight to test and compare with similar reviews, but that one I went to return the very next day. The sound is incomparable, the workmanship and the impression of the appearance clearly decided for JBL. For a little guy, he's got incredible bass. Of course, in the highest quarter of the volume it already distorts the bass, quite understandably due to the size of the diaphragms, but it's so noisy anyway that I don't feel the need to chase it at more than 70%, (both at home and out in the garden), so that could well be its maximum. I think two of these speakers in a TWS can make a decent garden disco: ). Since I have it, I play something on it every day and after 10 hours on about half volume I still have 60% battery, so the battery life is more than enough. I give it 5 stars. Oh, and someone wrote here in the past that the battery status is not visible on the repro or in the app. It's not true, apparently they've already fixed it. After switching on, a white battery bar is displayed next to the off button for 3s and every time you press it again, so manual control directly on the speaker is possible. Of course, in the application it is seen permanently and correctly.
