I don't like the new Xiaomi software at all.
The display falls asleep even when you look at it because it doesn't detect your face, which is annoying. This must be solved by installing a 3rd party application.
Compared to the redmi note 7, it warms up in the hand e.g. when installing applications. It's because of the processor.

The fingerprint reader is at the bottom of the display which bothers me because I have to swipe and touch the display. It's because of the price reduction.
After transferring data from Xiaomi Redmi Note 7, only installed apps, photos, etc. will be transferred. but not the data for those apps, so all apps start with a wizard where you have to re-enter email, password, etc. and set it up as if all applications were freshly installed.
Effects in the GUI slow down the work incredibly. For example. uninstalling bloatware while dragging each app to the trash, you have to wait unnecessarily for visual effects. It could be twice as fast without them. Overall, the effects just slow me down, so I had to get into Developer Options and turn off Window animation scale and other effects, and even set Animation Speed to Fast in a completely different menu (Home Screen). Anyway, it doesn't turn off all animations and then still e.g. closing the window takes unnecessary time because of the animation. Eventually, you have to switch to Nova Launcher instead of MIUI to turn it off and thus speed up your work. I want performance, not waiting for animations.
The default display refresh rate in the menu when it's on auto is 120Hz which is a complete waste and wastes battery like nothing. You have to manually set it to 60Hz in Display -> Refresh Rate.
Anyway, MIUI seems to me all some slow, half as slow, it should fly. I think they have the MIUI all wrong and are trying to cover up the slowness with stupid animations because they don't have time to optimize the MIUI and it's not open source. The proper solution is to reflash the ROM to something normal and non-Chinese, but it seems that custom ROMs for this device are not yet available and it may still take some time.
It's a situation of a fast processor, big RAM, even a big disk and impossibly bad software that is irritating every time you use it, like Windows Vista if anyone still remembers, but with the difference that you can't turn it off completely, the effects and will therefore irritate and delay.

I've already read about a few people who have tried to unlock + flash another ROM and have the device bricked. So far, none of them have solved it.
I don't know if I won't end up returning this smartphone within 14 days and paying for a Snapdragon gen 3 from another manufacturer with a smaller drive, less ram, but good software. For now, I'm trying to reconfigure and replace MIUI and some Xiaomi apps with something else.

Quite a good mobile, very powerful with a good battery (6 000), which however lasts due to performance a day to max. two if you're saving it. It is also water and possibly dust resistant.
