After 5 years of falling on the steel edge, my old LG Velvet, a great phone by the way, has finally reached the end of its life. The choice of a successor was simple. I don't support Chinese companies on principle. There are only two small phones on the market then. Apple and Samsung S25. And if you don't want to switch to Aplle, then one. I don't regret the purchase, it's a beautiful, fast, compact machine. Only the price hurt.

The phone is basically the same size as the iPhone 11, which I hereby walked away from. It feels better in the hand and is much easier to adjust the various settings, which was basically impossible with the iPhone. I have been using it for over a week, and I am satisfied. I highly recommend it!
It meets expectations.
So far I haven't noticed any "downside".

bought as a gift with 512GB of course. Girlfriend isn't complaining and the camera is good, so probably a success 😆
snapdragon elite
due to the camera photos and quality videos take up more space i.e. 128GB must be almost unusable

For a price of about 19 000 (on sale) I expected a phone that will not have a problem to open custom apps and settings and where the transcription from dictated Czech will not be a problem. Maybe it's the fact that I've been using iOS for almost 6 years, but I find the android I'm using confusing to the point of clutter. I wanted to give up the iPhone because of the price, but this was not worth it. I don't recommend it, I'll be returning it.
Better battery life and faster charging compared to iPhone 8
Relatively large internal memory
Good integration with Garmin watches
Some apps take quite a while to load (and I'm comparing this to the 2019 iPhone 8)
Cannot do voice input in Czech (and now I don't mean some boy AI function, but just plain dictating a message)
A significant part of the phone's capacity is clogged with the system and apps - some of which cannot be used in Czech/Czech
I also don't see any significant difference in photos compared to the iPhone 8 with one camera

Appearance - it's the smallest phone currently available from a reasonable brand. The design is reminiscent of (imitates? ) Apple phones, but today all phones look kind of the same. But even such a compact phone (of course? ) has a protruding camera optic on the back, but this is not a major problem; In addition, if the phone is in almost any case, the protruding optics are lost completely (verified). Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite For Galaxy is probably the most powerful chipset today and I reckon it will be enough for everything and always: ) In order to conserve battery, and taking into account my usage patterns, I even voluntarily limited my CPU power (Performance Profile: Light), endurance is more important to me. The Dynamic LTPO AMOLED HDR10+ FHD+ 6.2" display has absolutely sufficient resolution and backlighting and is not only beautiful to read outdoors. The minimal edges also make it appear larger than it actually is: ) I was worried about dulling the touch pad while holding the phone, but that didn't prove to be the case. Overall, the display is really luxurious. Observation: if I look at the display from an angle worse than ±45°, the colours will shift, the white will turn green - but the fact is that I don't look at the display like that. I was surprised, but I don't see it as a problem. 12 GB of RAM is more than enough for everything I intend to do with the phone, including potential AI shenanigans. In the basic settings, the phone has "RAM plus" turned on, something like virtual memory; I turned it off (again, for better endurance). 256 GB UFS 4.0 storage - I took the version with more storage more or less because of UFS 4.0 (speed, consumption) and also so that I don't run out of space in the future. Unfortunately, a lot of memory is taken up by those pre-installed apps that can't be uninstalled, so more memory is really better in Samsung's case. The 4000 mAh battery seems small, but apparently the phone can handle energy efficiently. The cameras have been the same hardware-wise for the third year, only the processing and post-processing of the images has changed. I have improved though, especially the 3x telephoto is quite nice. Android 15 / OneUI 7.0 is the latest version of both Android and the superstructure from Samsung at the moment. OneUI is a fairly extensive extension, Samsung has worked quite hard with it - and yet I'm not sure it was worth it. Sure, I can set up absolutely anything, but digital minimalism is more trendy today. There's a lot of bloatware on the phone, and it's not just the notorious Facebook or LinkedIn (both of which went away immediately). Some things can be uninstalled, some things have to be disabled, and then it gets better, but there is one specific category - Samsung apps. These make up a really big part of bloatware - in my opinion, many of them are useless, just duplicate Google apps without bringing any extra benefit. I go through the apps and delete or ban them, but a lot of them I just have to put up with. This is probably the worst aspect of the phone. Overall, it's a modern phone with long support and great features. I recommend it. (And in the same way, I recommend Samsung to be more "light" in software terms. )
The smallest phone on the market from a reasonable manufacturer.
7 years of new OS versions and security updates.
As today's flagship, it has plenty of power for the future.
If needed, there is a wide network of service centres in the Czech Republic.
Samsung DeX.
It supports 2 nano-SIM cards plus eSIM, what more could you ask for.
Brutal amount of bloatware, some can be uninstalled, some can't.
A bit old photographic part, but you can live with it.
