The biggest "wow effect" for me was the 6.9" display with the Privacy Display function which prevents curious glances from the surroundings. Readability in direct sunlight is unrivalled thanks to 2600 nits. Thanks to a thinner body (7.9 mm) and more rounded corners, the phone does not press into the palm of your hand as much as previous generations. The S26 Ultra has plenty of performance thanks to the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip, and the phone doesn't overheat even during demanding tasks. The camera has undergone a major improvement (brighter f/1.4 optics) which finally solved a few ailments. Video stabilization is literally in a different league to the competition. Finally the phone got some solid charging even though the competition can charge faster, so 60W wired charging and 25W wireless are perfectly adequate for everyday life.

The battery lasts a full day of intensive use without any problems and the fast charging is very practical. The S Pen is still there, it can be used for notes and quick sketches. Overall, the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra is a high-end phone for demanding users who want the best without compromise.

I've been using stylus phones since the Galaxy Note series, and I buy a new one every year. The S26 Ultra looks pretty good so far. The lens modules are very protruding, it would be better if the whole phone was thicker and had a bigger battery, this way it is unnecessarily thin and the lenses stick out a lot. To keep the phone on the table, I recommend a cover with a lens cover, see attached photo. The rounding of the corners is subjective, I personally liked the sharp edges better, but it doesn't stick out so much in my pants pocket.
