If you google "shelly homekit", there is an opensource project where you can download apple homekit compatible firmware (and then you don't need any gateway or app and it's directly linked to homekit). The process is reversible, so the original firmware can be reverted at any time. It's really small, but it's still quite a challenge to get it into the installation box under the socket (especially if you have not only the supply in the box, but the cables then continue to another socket). I finally got it done, next on my agenda is shelly 2.5 and a blind switch, and there's a lot more to squeeze in, so fingers crossed: )
