The meter will lose the ability to remember anything when unplugged, but will otherwise be fully functional. If you would like to replace the battery, it is a 3S battery of cells with a diameter of 11.5 mm and a height of 5 mm, a capacity of 40 mAh, a pin spacing of 16 mm and a charging current I measured of 1.6 mA. Alternatively, if you don't want to find them, there's enough room for three AAA cells. Or for shorter data retention only when switching between sockets, a capacitor is sufficient (the quiescent consumption is only 14 μA).

Solight looks to be a Czech brand, but this is probably just some Chinese rebrand. Better luck next time.
