I bought this as a replacement for the Carlinkit Ultra Mini 3, which got incredibly hot as soon as I plugged it in and wouldn’t connect; the car reported an unsupported USB device – probably a faulty unit. To be honest, I didn’t believe this version would work at all, but I didn’t fancy waiting for AAWireless. I am satisfied with the purchase. Despite the reviews, I have to say that it doesn’t overheat at all (if it does, it’s a faulty unit). It takes a bit longer than I'd like for the infotainment system to connect after it starts up. And sometimes it resets at the start of the connection, but then it’s stable. As long as it works, I won’t change it. 2016 VW Golf (MIB2), Samsung Galaxy A53

Very easy and straightforward installation
It doesn't overheat. After 20 minutes of testing, the temperature was around 30°C

Screen latency is very good (this will vary depending on the size of the display)
It connects to the phone straight away, but it takes a little longer to establish a connection with Android Auto (10–15 seconds); however, I imagine it might be quicker in a different car. Or have a go at adjusting the settings.
As for the design, I’d prefer something simpler – a discreet black rectangle would be better. This model looks like a 20-year-old dongle. It might be a minor detail, but I’m glad that, in my case, it can be hidden behind a panel.
