I recommend it. After some research, I bought this one because it was one of the few with a Realtek RTL9210B chip inside. Lots of other devices have weird Chinese chips - which on the one hand can never drive both SATA and NVMe drives, and on the other hand make the whole device crazy hot. That's why with a lot of competitors you have to glue the heatsink to the disk and attach it to the metal case. This has no adhesive cooling whatsoever, I have an NVME Samsung 1TB drive in it and it doesn't heat up at all, and I have it plugged in practically nonstop. I have it connected to USB in the dock and Windows works perfectly fine even with the laptop disconnecting/connecting or going to sleep.
