This enclosure makes the impossible possible. You take an old laptop or desktop that still has USB 2 or USB 3, buy one more cable and plug in the latest NVMe 2TB drive!
I have my Seagate 530 FireCuda 2TB NVMe plugged into a Lenovo W530 laptop which is neither USB-C nor NVMe capable. It works 100% perfectly.
If someone' s drive slows down and then speeds up again, it could be the drive overheating. If the disk does not have a heatsink, it can be purchased separately for CZK 149 so that the disk does not overheat or slow down.
If anyone has a problem in GNU/Linux, I recommend checking the Linux driver, auto-mounting settings in /etc, etc. If the kernel is compiled modularly, the driver can be removed (unload) and added (load) again with the modprobe command in Linux without having to physically manipulate the disk. If it works as it should in Windows, in Linux there must be a problem in the settings or in the driver. The source codes should be available, so whoever has a problem can create a solution for it themselves and possibly send a patch. I wrote and posted a lot of them when I was using GNU/Linux on the desktop, so you can too. But this enclosure is innocent in it. There is no need to update the enclosure firmware.
