I was led to purchase the Xiaomi 15 Ultra by high expectations in the field of photography. In my opinion, the 1/1 inch 50 Mpx sensor of the main camera should be enough for perfect everyday photos. And in addition to these, I need top-quality photos, which I normally take with a mirrorless camera with a huge telephoto lens - and here I was very curious to see how much the 200 Mpx sensor with Zeiss optics could replace it. Within 4 days, we managed to find out 1. The hardware for photography is really top-notch. 2. The photography software looks to me like it's a stripped down version (perhaps only temporarily? ) for basic functions. a) I can't find the Panorama function. b) I can't save photos in jpg-files larger than 12 Mpx. c) The default setting renders images too brightly coloured. I haven't learned to reconfigure yet. d) The default AI settings are too active for my taste. There doesn't seem to be any way to limit it. e) I found exposure bracketing. But especially the great camera with Zeiss optics achieves such a zoom that it is practically impossible to hold in your hand, and even on a tripod the image jumps. If the camera could take a short, quick series of pictures (even if only in memory), and select and save the best one, or even count and save a better quality picture than any of those taken, that would be something. 3. An attempt to play Sudoku ended after half an hour on a Bus Out ad that you can't get out of. The combination of the instrument with the Apexel telepreset was successful. The telephoto mount is feasible, and the setup takes pictures - of course in quality matching that of the telephoto mount - and (optical! ) The zoom is absolutely extraordinary. Of course, without a tripod it is useless. But I definitely don't recommend it to anyone, it's mechanically extremely demanding, it requires great care, of course a lot of light, and even then it's a big problem to focus correctly, and aberrations are evident. And the incomparably simpler use of software zoom (without the Apexel telephoto advance) results in quite good image quality.
