Blind Hem Foot

A blind hem foot is a special type of presser foot for sewing machines. It is used to create a blind stitch, which serves to finish fabric edges, for example on trousers, skirts, or curtains. The result is a hem where the seam is almost invisible from the right, or outer, side of the fabric. The foot is equipped with a special guide that runs along the folded edge of the fabric. This guide ensures that the machine sews several straight stitches in the hem allowance and then, with one zigzag stitch, catches only a minimal part of the main fabric, making the stitch hidden from the outside.
