Skyrim: Special Edition brings the fifth instalment of the successful The Elder Scrolls series to Xbox consoles in digital format. This version of the game combines action-adventure and RPG genres in the vast open world of Tamriel. The edition includes all enhancements, including improved graphics and new effects, and for the first time, introduces support for community mods on consoles. The game is designed for a single player and has an age rating of 18+ due to its violent content.
The game is set in the fantasy realm of Tamriel, which offers a vast open world to explore. You can create any type of character and complete quests as you see fit. The game emphasises freedom of choice, storytelling, and adventure, allowing you to experience the story at your own pace. The world is filled with vibrant cities, expansive landscapes, and ancient caves waiting to be discovered.
The story begins after the murder of the High King of Skyrim, which has plunged the land into chaos and a struggle for the throne. In the midst of this political conflict, a much older threat awakens. Dragons, long thought to be extinct, have returned to Tamriel. The future of the entire realm depends on the arrival of the Dragonborn, a hero with the power of the Voice, capable of stopping the dragons. Your task is to embrace this role and save the world from destruction.
The Special Edition brings technical improvements that adapt the game for modern consoles. The environmental graphics have been reworked, new volumetric effects have been added, and the resolution of textures and objects is higher. The biggest change, however, is the full support for community mods, which was previously only available on PC. This allows you to expand your gaming experience with new content created by the players themselves, regardless of the platform.
