The renowned Czech brand is nearly a century old and is known for its unique and practical building kits that develop technical thinking, imagination, skill and patience. What Mercury kit should I choose?

Large kits are numbered 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8. They include universal parts that form the base of all Merkur construction. The more layers you choose (1 to 5), the more components and options you get. These kits include basic components such as curved strips, arcs, wheels, angles, screws, nuts and many other parts. The most advanced is the classic five-layer Merkur 8 construction kit.
Medium kits - themed Merkur kits with instructions and specific examples. You can choose from military-themed kits, airplanes, firefighters, animals, vehicles, and much more.
Small Merkur kits are numbered 010-032 and the number is printed directly on the box. You can use them to assemble many interesting models, especially vehicles.

What can I build with Merkur kits?

Cars, helicopters, motorcycles, tractors, airplanes and much more—it all depends on your imagination and interests. Merkur is amazingly effective at developing creativity and today, many adults fondly remember how they first made their own moving crane, lathe or drill and how delighted they were when their creations actually worked. There is also a special railway-themed Merkur series, featuring locomotives, tenders, passenger and freight cars, tracks and switches. But this is only a small part of this comprehensive series designed for young train drivers. Let your child explore all the options the Merkur trains offer.

Did you know that...

the renowned Czech scientist Otto Wichterle made the world’s first contact lenses with a machine constructed from Merkur parts? The government had originally suspended his research and pulled the funding, so Wichterle had to improvise. The first prototype spin casting machine was powered by the generator from his son's bicycle and a bell transformer. Who knows, perhaps your child will grow up to become an inventor as well.
