Air Purifiers

As the name suggests, air purifiers are used to remove various kinds of impurities from indoor air. Choosing the right type depends on the type of impurities you want to remove and the size of the room where the device is to be used. The key parameters to keep in mind are the filtration type and the purifier’s performance.

  • air purifiers are sometimes equipped with an ioniser, which raises air filtration effectiveness

Purifier output

  • should be appropriate for the size of the room in which you are planning to use it
  • the purifier should be able to filter all the air in the room about 2.5 times per hour, or 4 times if you are buying it for an allergy sufferer
  • the mathematical formula for calculating the airflow output  (m3/h) is the following: floor area (m2) × room height (m) × 2.5 (4)

Noise levels

  • inherently connected to the overall output; the more powerful the machine, the more noise it makes
  • particularly important if you want to leave it on overnight, max. 30 db

  • Power control - allows you to reduce its output at night, making it whisper-quiet when you need it

Air Purifiers

An air purifier is essentially a collection of filters that filter air drawn from the room. The purified air is subsequently released back. Due to their ability to remove a variety of impurities from indoor air and prevent people from inhaling harmful substances, air purifiers are popular in homes, offices, schools, and in health care facilities. Like humidifiers, air purifiers have a favourable effect on human health.

How does an air purifier work?

Air purifiers remove all airborne particles and — depending on the type — are capable of detecting bacteria, viruses and other harmful impurities. This is accomplished using a set of filters, including the HEPA filter. The ioniser helps by releasing negative ions that attach themselves to dust particles, pollen, smoke, and pet allergens. The ioniser assists the filter in capturing it all and has an overall positive impact on our health.

Air purifier performance

Before buying an air purifier, we recommended to consider its performance and the size of the room where you are planning to use it.
