Water cooling (also known as liquid cooling) uses a liquid flowing in a closed circuit to dissipate heat. It's perfect for professional PC setups and for gaming machines where the processor and graphics card are constantly on the go.

What are the Advantages of Water Cooling for PCs When Compared to Air Cooling?

  • A PC case with water cooling will be significantly quieter than a case with similarly powerful air cooling.
  • Liquid cooling doesn't take up as much space as fans, looks better and provides convenient access to components.
  • You have a completely free hand when building a water cooling system- both in terms of design and cooling performance.

Water Cooling - The Difference between an All-in-One and a Bespoke Circuit

What options does All-in-One water cooling give you and does it outperform a customised liquid cooling circuit?

  • An All-in-One water cooling system is the easiest way to add water cooling to your PC. This is a complete set that just needs to be attached to the processor and the case. It is no more demanding to maintain or install than an air cooler.
  • A customised water cooling system needs to be assembled from available parts. Its long-term cooling potential is the highest of all conventional solutions and its power can be increased freely thanks to its modularity.

Indispensable Components needed for Water Cooling

Water cooling would not work without a few key components. You'll need an expansion tank, pump, hose or radiator whether you're building a water cooling system for your graphics card, CPU or for your entire motherboard.

  • CPU water cooling blocks are placed directly on the processor, from which they transfer heat to the flowing water.
  • Blocks and coolers for graphics cards work in the same way as in the case of a CPU. It cools the card and surrounding components.
  • Water cooling pumps ensure sufficient pressure and water flow in the cooling circuit.
  • Water cooling radiators cool the fluid heated by the heat from the components and return it to the circuit.
  • Liquid Cooling Coolant Fluids are indispensable heat carriers. Distilled water is most commonly used, but the use of special solutions with inhibitors to improve the anti-corrosion properties is ideal.
  • The expansion tank is a fluid reservoir that ensures sufficient and convenient refilling of the fluid.
  • Fans force enough air through the radiator to ensure the optimum cooling of the water.
