Don't be alarmed, it takes a while for the monitor to adjust, as soon as you plug it in you will see vertical lines all the way around the monitor, you have to do a pixel calibration on the monitor and they will disappear but probably every OLED has that.

This is my first OLED, it's a huge leap from LCD. The negatives I've listed are frustrating though, the monitor is pretty much rubbish for graphic design and given that most movies and games have dark scenes you'll notice this even if you only consume media. According to mentions on the internet, compared to other monitors with the same panel, this one struggles with banding issues the most, LG probably keeps the best pieces for themselves and ASUS. Before buying, I recommend doing your own research on this monitor and the features of tandem OLEDs in general.

Since I bought the RX 9070 XT and OLED prices really dropped on Black Friday this year, I started digging around in those OLED displays and found this news. 4th generation WOLED, matte finish, well, I put it in my cart (I ordered on 2.11) and today my monitor arrived. Previous IPS QHD 2560x1440@144Hz monitor from ViewSonic, before that a few FHD IPS gaming panels. I'm not kidding, but that picture made me sit on my ass. Unreal, what a difference it makes when black is really black. The only thing I didn't like at first was the font rendering when the font is black on a white background. I googled, ran the Edit Text ClearType app in Windows 11, pressed a few options and voila, the fonts are much better, probably not like the IPS panel, but this monitor is for games and I have a second IPS next to it for photos. So I'll just program on the other one. I give it 5/5.

I have been using the monitor for 4 days (32 hours total) and so far I am very satisfied. I was originally going to wait for the version with the glossy finish, but I ended up trying this matte one and I have to say it's great. There is a slight graininess visible when displaying an all-white area, but only if you focus on it, you won't notice it in normal use. A lot of people generally complain that OLED monitors have low brightness, but the 4th generation WOLED definitely doesn't suffer from this. On a sunny day, I had the monitor set to 29 out of 100 (equivalent to 120 nits) and still felt the brightness was too high, so I even had to turn it down a bit more. The monitor is primarily suited for gaming and video consumption, but I use it for office work as well (of course I use dark mode, low brightness and all the OLED care features, so this combination should hopefully make it last for years). Last but not least, the construction looks good, which is greatly helped by the all-metal thin stand (the monitor looks elegant). I know that 4 days of use is not a long time, but at the moment I would rate the monitor 9/10, the only shortcoming I have noticed is that it does not start the pixel refresh itself

I am extremely satisfied with the monitor. Fantastic picture, wonderfully vivid colours, great contrast and finally an OLED with proper brightness. I was worried about the matte finish but unnecessarily so. It's not overly matte like some IPS panels, and it doesn't dull colours. In the end, it probably seems like a better choice than a glossy panel, mainly because of the glare. The new 4-stack OLED technology does an excellent job and considering the price, I think it's a great buy.
