I have a 3d mouse at work and got one for home. Works great, nothing to complain about. The base is heavy enough not to drive away. I have no experience with other brands, but I think 3dconnexion is renowned for its products. The wired version suits me fine, I don't have to deal with charging etc, but if I was moving the PC around a lot I would definitely take the wireless one. These come in Wireless and Bluetooth versions. Wireless only handles the connection to the dongle, Bluetooth has a dongle but doesn't need it just because it has BT.

A great feature for 3D CADs. It makes it easier and faster to use and simplifies your work if you switch between multiple CADs with different controls. Also usable in other applications (Google Earth, flight simulators. ). The supplied software is quite good, it is easy to configure profiles for individual applications. The cable is long enough to reach the PC under the desk. It doesn't really work with web sites in the browser, for example with maps it would be useful, but it doesn't do what I would expect it to do (it just zooms, but doesn't pan). If the software is installed and you disconnect the spacemouse, it can cause problems (e.g. chopping in CorelCAD / Draftsight).
