The router is located on the top floor of the brick house just behind the gable under the antenna. I had high expectations for this router, I liked what it could do (on paper): - NAS - the ability to connect a HDD/SSD (via USB) and use it, for example, for Time Machine backup on a Mac. - Dual WAN - this means I can connect another internet connection (in my case a 5G/LTE modem/router over Ethernet) and if the main internet is unavailable, it will switch to the backup. Unfortunately, this doesn't work - the Time Machine backups break after 3-6 days and you have to delete the backups, reset the router and start again. Dual WAN also only works for about a week, and then switches to "backup WAN" and stays there until reset (the "fail back" option is on but not working). These features are not reliable at all, I feel that despite the five times price this router does not add any value compared to cheaper routers. I had some cheap TP-Link before that didn't have as many features, but in the Asus router they are unusable anyway - I got a separate NAS, turned off Dual WAN and when the internet doesn't work I'll switch manually etc. And then there's the low reliability - after 1-3 weeks, the internet slows down, IoT devices start to lose connection or it takes a minute instead of a second to connect to them, etc. After a reset the situation improves, but again after 2-3 weeks the problem returns. For that price, I expected something better. The aforementioned cheap TP-Link behaved similarly, but there was a need to reboot after about a month.

to my big surprise, is able to boost distance and reliability of wifi headphones in the 2,4 band (connected to PC, not to router!). The explanation I found is that "the router will be able to rebroadcast the signal from the headphones, making it stronger and more reliable."
