I spend multiple hours on youtube to understand how to setup this camera as my webcam. There are 2 ways: using Canon application and a usb cable (which is not part of the package) or with a capture card (hdmi->capture card->usb port). In order to control the camera remotely, you need to install canon utility. in order for the camera to be recognized, you need to install canon Webcam utility (and there are 2 versions). When the 2 applications are installed at the same time, they enter conflict. pffff, on my hp spectre, it took me many many many hours to almost make it work, then upon restart it didn't work anymore. It's maybe a great camera but as a webcam it sucks balls
