It repeatedly fails to send its location. Since I bought it, it seems to send its location once an hour. Now the last location was 30 hours ago, even though it's right next to the phone. Either it's a faulty unit or it has insufficient Bluetooth. Thanks, but no thanks.

Don't buy this at all, it's a complete waste of money. I have two in my car: this one I bought from Alza, and another one I bought for a few quid in Action. The one from Action shows the location accurately, but when I look at this Fixed one, it shows complete nonsense with delayed reactions. For instance, when the one from Action is showing the correct location and I look at the Fixed one at the same time, it's showing me a position from 6 hours ago. It's just a completely useless item, fit for the bin!
