Easy setup from the first time you turn it on (unfortunately it requires a Wi-Fi connection when you first turn it on), the user experience is more pleasant than Kindles. It is easy to install KOReader because, unlike Amazon, Rakuten does not fight with users. The plastic feels a bit cheaper compared to the Kindle, it's not rubberized so it can slide out of your hand more easily, however, I guess everyone buys a cover for their reader so it doesn't matter. It's slightly lighter than the Kindle, holds well in one hand. The display backlighting is slightly uneven, but as long as one doesn't focus on the book instead, it doesn't matter. The display is virtually the same as the new Kindles - fine, good contrast. There are no intrusive advertisements, the book deal is not forced. If you're deciding between a Kindle and a Kobo, after about 10 years of experience with Kindles, I'd recommend the Kobo - you get much more of a sense that the reader is really yours.

I was originally thinking about the color version, but after seeing a few comparisons I decided on the BW version and I definitely don' t regret it. The black and white version has the latest Carta 1300. I can personally compare it to the Paperwhite 4 (2018), where I really don' t like the protective glass on the display. Without the glass, the reading experience is much closer to a real book. I also appreciate the software - compared to the Kindle, your content takes up most of the space. On the homepage you will only find a link to the Kobo shop and a link to the manual for the reader. If you want to enjoy Clara to the fullest, I recommend sending the books to the reader in kepub (not epub) format. In Caliber, you probably already have the KoboTouch plugin pre-installed, to which you need to install KoboTouchExtended. Subsequently, the plugin will automatically convert all epub books to the kepub format (KOBO EPUB) when you send them to your device. The main difference between epub and kepub is the browsing speed, the ability to zoom images or improved statistics, including an estimate of the remaining time.
