I needed a new smart bulb that I could simply steam into the HA. So far I've preferred wifi over Matter because of the price (thread bulbs are priced differently). Works great, pairs seamlessly, no integration into the original app thanks to Matter. If anyone like me runs into a pairing problem, the wifi module does not support WPA3, even though the fallback is set to WPA2. You need to set the wifi securita to WPA2 only. I've already come across this with two other devices.

I wanted to replace the reliable Yeelight bulbs (Xiaomi Home) because I' m switching to Aqara, which supports Matter on the Hub M3 (and have everything in Aqara + Apple Home for automation). This light bulb also supports Matter, but even after several attempts it simply cannot be paired to the Aqara application - it always ends with a message that it cannot be added to the household. I' ve tried just about everything, but to no avail. Obviously, this is NOT an EU variant, so the pairing (I guess) will only work when the location is set to " China" (= setting up the entire household from scratch) and that doesn' t make sense. Pairing to the native MOES app worked without problems. Everything works reliably there (but that' s useless to me).
