The fan is very nice and after unpacking you say to yourself that it must be great. But when you turn it on for the first time, you will ask yourself where the mistake is that you can' t feel anything. The fan is very weak and you can feel it from speed 7. However, the air flow is very pleasant and not as aggressive as with other column fans. But the volume is tragic. I did measure it with my phone, but a rough estimate of the volume will do. At the lowest speed I got to an average of 45 db. At an ambient speed of some 49 db and at maximum speed, when the fan is at least doing something, 55 db was measured. My second fan, which cost 1/3 the price, has these values, maybe not. I wanted this one for the bedroom at night, but since it' s just as loud and blows even less, it' s really useless to keep it at home, so I' m returning it. If you want to have a Dyson at home, but you don' t want to pay that kind of money and you are able to survive that it doesn' t tell you how clean the air is in your home and settle for a slightly cut down version, this is probably a good way to go. UV light, HEPA filter are definitely great features that allergy sufferers or people who live in a dusty location will certainly appreciate. I can' t say if it really works, but I think that at least the HEPA filter will do something. A fan would be great, but with a price tag of 1500-2000 rather than 4000.
