The first thing that positively impresses on the phone is the quality metal body and large AMOLED display with a very good display and good automatic brightness control. The phone looks durable overall and the processing is of high quality. The display has a black frame around it, but I personally don't mind it. The sound of the speakers, the camera, the quality of the signal reception - all this is excellent and absolutely unqualified. I'm a little bit missing some replacement for the notification LED compared to my older phone, which can be solved with an app, but at the cost of faster battery drainage. The long-term support from the manufacturer is great, so even in four or five years, the phone will have an up-to-date system. Overall, an excellent mid-range phone that doesn't try to dazzle with big numbers (camera resolution, max. charging power, display frequency), but relies on quality, good workmanship and above all on the speed and clarity of the system and software support.

After switching from M12 to A55 noticeable difference in system agility. The colours of the display are beautiful. The camera is absolutely sufficient for my purposes (scanning and shooting documents, occasionally taking a photo), otherwise I shoot on the camera and can't evaluate more. The battery is sufficient, just by feel it seems to last less than the previous phone (WiFi, bluetooth and data on), but it makes up for it with extra fast charging and battery protection while charging is a bonus. The phone itself is a bit bigger, but that's to be expected, it might just catch someone off guard. Beautiful design, but the glass back definitely needs a cover. 128 GB is absolutely enough for my needs and if not, I can add an sd card. Bulging cameras are a bit of a drawback, but then again, that's the norm these days. The fingerprint sensor works almost every time on the first try, even with the glass glued on, it just takes practice.

If I hadn't smashed my display by dropping it on my cat's head and through the case, I wouldn't have run out of A8(2018). After the Galaxy Note II, it was my beloved phone and a yearly fixture. The current premium range doesn't offer memory cards and jack, and the barometer is also only on the highest model. So this was a reasonably priced phone choice, unless I want a device from PRC and the family is used to Samsungs. It's bigger than the A8(2018), but I'm happy. It works nicely with the regular Tab A8 tablet, the bright new display out on the maps is very nice (though not perfect), and I'm learning not to cry over the lack of HW. Garmin heart rate monitor goes via BT and the cycle trainer also. The new phone's battery life of a day and a half is also quite good.
Since the A8(2018), really upgraded HW (photo, reader in the display and not on the back, reasonable internal memory, 5g, display)
Snappy system runtime, Android 14 UI 6.1 has quite a few tweaks (sharing with the environment, sidebars, modes, )
