As a student user who was looking for a larger fryer for simple multi-portion boils and something stylish for the modern kitchen, I have to say that the Tefal Easy Fry & Grill XXL literally delighted me.
I'll start with the most important thing: capacity. This model offers a capacity of 6.5 litres (which, according to the manufacturer, is enough for up to eight portions) - ideal when you're cooking for family or friends. The size gives me the feeling that "it's not just for one serving anymore", but that you can prepare a decent amount of food at once.
At the same time, the design of the fryer looks modern - black surface, simple operation - so it fits into almost any kitchen.
Another plus are the various programs. The model has 8 preset programs (e.g. chips, nuggets, roast chicken, pizza, meat, fish, vegetables, dessert) plus manual mode.
This means I don't really have to think about time or temperature - I just need to select a program. As a student you will appreciate that (less thinking, less risk of burning something).
Plus, there's the "Extra Crisp" feature - a hot air circulation technology that promises a crispy surface with minimal oil.
Since you like a well-functioning appliance, this aspect is definitely a "big plus".
Design and use in daily operation
The design is elegant and versatile: black color, subtle lines - which helps that I don't see the fryer as a "utilitarian nook", but rather as a stylish addition to the kitchen. For student flats or shared kitchens, this is an advantage because it looks good even if you leave it out on the counter.
When it comes to the controls - digital panel, touch buttons or easily accessible programs - everything works intuitively. The manual states that this device is designed for a wide variety of foods, not just fries.
Cleaning and maintenance I also rate positively - non-stick surface, removable bowl (or if it's a drawer) and good cleaning option.
In my practice I use it to prepare main dishes, side dishes and smaller snacks. It really works as the manufacturer promises: crispy fries, chicken nicely cooked, vegetables with good texture. When you are cooking for more people, you will appreciate that you don't have to make 2-3 batches, but a larger volume at a time.
I also like that when looking at the appliance, there is no feeling of "this is just another extra appliance", but that it is something that fits well into the kitchen space.
In addition... the feeling of "shame" (that I chose something good) - when guests see a device that looks good and works great at the same time.
If I had to sum it up in one sentence: I am very happy with this fryer - its size, number of programs and design really match what I was looking for. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a large, versatile and stylish hot air fryer with grill. If I had to list a weakness - maybe the larger size means you need plenty of space on the kitchen counter, but that's just a small "tax" for the benefits.
