I wanted to add a 5G backup to my existing Deco px50 network. Unfortunately, TP-Link says on its website that it is possible to connect the 5G unit as a satellite and have it as a backup (but probably not with the firmware available in the Czech Republic). So I had to replace the deco with the main deco, and it brought down the whole network. Several times a day it was silent for a few minutes as the whole network rebooted several times. It was partially helped by switching 5G to 4G, fixed the carrier and connected one px-50 cable and fixed the others through this cable deco. Then it only crashes once a day. I can see about half of the devices now as connected clients even though they remain on an IoT network that the app says doesn't exist, the other half I can't see but for the most part are still connected. The only reason I bought this overpriced deco as a backup is because I didn't want to hassle with a new system setup. I've basically already done that anyway and the network is in ruins,. and no one from tp link support writes. Once I have a moment to set it all up again, I'll be returning it.
Nothing
Completely unravelled. network in which 3x deco px 50 worked great before
Crashes at least once a day and has to be restarted
Some devices that connected fine to the original network on the deco px50 will now not connect
I don't see devices that are obviously on the network in the app
The IoT network from the deco px50 is still active even though the app says it no longer sends anything
Cameras that worked fine on the previous wifi are now crashing
