We used the modem instead of a tablet, which had the hot spot permanently on. We only use it in the restaurant for the cash register and laptop when we need to change something on the menu. Nothing else is running on it. Since the same sim card from the tablet was moved to the modem and an identical number of devices were connected to it, we assumed we knew what data consumption to expect. Wrong. While the tablet kept the consumption to some 2.5GB of data per month (still quite a lot), this modem grabbed a whopping 1GB of data in just two days! Completely incomprehensible, it eats data from the sim card even overnight when everything in the restaurant is turned off. We looked in the settings to see if there was any data saving or a plan to turn wifi on and off, but no. So we have to manually switch the modem off every closing time and then switch it on again in the morning. Where the modem is sending 500MB of data overnight, and from devices that are still turned off, I really don't understand.
