On my piece the increased resolution didn't work, only the basic one. Images are grainy, color balance is poor, and edges are cropped. On the other hand, a whole roll of negatives can be pulled through the scanner quite quickly. So if you want quality digital family photos, look for something else. But if you are just archiving some technical photos from construction etc, I can recommend this scanner.

It's far from a professional scanner, but it's adequate for scanning 50-year-old archival film for digitizing for the web and regular A4 printing. Too bad it can't be set to save photos to the SD card with the touch of a button. It is necessary to press two different ones. Exposure metering is sometimes slow, not very flexible, but I didn't expect more. Removing the cine film from the holder (opening the holder) could be better solved, this way I am worried about the durability of the holder over time (i.e. when what breaks off).

Everything is described by quoting a review from another vendor's site, and it's absolutely accurate: "I bought this scanner and after scanning about 10 slides I found this scanner to be absolutely useless, the result looks like it was taken through bathroom glass. I think it shouldn't be sold as a scanner, but as a toy for kids that doesn't produce anything, it's just to maybe keep a small child entertained for a while, but only until they want to do some printing with it. "There are quite a few bad reviews describing the same problem on professional websites. Probably the biggest problem is that the manufacturer labeled this product as a "professional scanner". The compression of the resulting JPG scan is so high that it's really unusable. I have attached one frame of 135 film - printscreen 1:1 - pixel to pixel. Yet a 2017 review on DigiNeff shows a different result - either the pieces are now defective or new and therefore very bad firmware. I was trying to find some info on playing it respectively. older versions, but unsuccessfully. Maybe someone can help. I will try to return the product in any case.
Very poor JPG output quality - too high compression. The label professional scanner as stated by the manufacturer is very misleading to say the least.
