I bought the monitor right after I returned the Acer Nitro Gaming XV272UV3 within the 14-day period, which totally disappointed me, especially with its brightness level and contrast. I decided to "invest" about 3x its price and within the alzadnů to get this Gigabyte QD-OLED monitor. I was tired of dealing with the compromises of IPS monitors and praying that my IPS panel would be the one without problems. After unpacking the monitor and then plugging it in, I was in awe of the color rendering and contrast (yes, my first OLED display). It's absolutely incomparable to previous IPS monitors I've had, especially in contrast, but also in colour rendering. The design of the monitor and packaging is very nice, the OSD control from the bottom is also very practical. After a week of use, I have nothing to complain about so far. The only potential drawback, which applies to all OLED monitors, is the potential for image burn-in. Gigabyte has implemented a number of protection tools to prevent burn-in, not to mention a 3-year warranty, but the question is how suitable this monitor is for working with "static programs", whether one is a programmer or works in Word. For these cases I personally have a second IPS monitor. Also the gigabyte control center software could use a little care. It often happens that settings made via this software are not reflected at all and, conversely, changes made in the OSD are not reflected in the software. If your financial situation allows it, I definitely recommend "investing" in an OLED panel, even this particular model, which for me has no significant negatives. The picture quality is completely different compared to IPS.
Verified purchase - review from a price comparison website
Decent picture especially in games and movies when dark scenes look much better than classic lcd. But in my judgement the worse text display where the letters are slightly out of focus, (a problem with all OLEDs) my old IPS monitor is doing much better. Precision machined with a combination of aluminium and hard plastic. To my misfortune, after ten days, a vertical white bar appeared in the middle of the picture (probably a defect of the piece), so I am returning it to my displeasure and I will purchase the OLED again when the time comes when they catch the bugs. A three-year warranty is a must.
A beautiful monitor that is well priced and definitely worth it. The transition from traditional panels is indescribable and the picture is far better than anything I expected after experiencing OLED on larger scale phones. Responsiveness is instant, it supports a million things incl. usb C. There's a KVM switch that's sure to please people who want to switch between console and PC. The control buttons are well designed and the menu is simple and clear. You can also turn off the LED on the monitor. The only major complaint is VESA. It supports the standard VESA 100x100 format, but the screw holes are a bit shallower than the standard that comes with VESA screw mounts. It still mounts securely on a VESA mount and still holds steady, but this kind of variance should be mentioned somewhere, it amazes me that it isn't. But you don't accidentally roll on the other side anyway, so it doesn't matter so much. Personally I have no problems with text readability, everything ok even for office work.
QD-OLED - black is black
1440p 240 Hz sizzles
beautiful colours and dynamics between them
the control buttons are pleasant to use and the menu is simple and clear
light
anti-burn in features already enabled in the base
KVM switch can be an advantage for people who use both PC and console, personally I don't use
great for gaming and video
price
the standard VESA screws are too long for the monitor, they hold the monitor, but it's not great, this feature is not described anywhere
the management software doesn't detect the monitor and according to the community it's pretty bad, but it's not needed
The first QD-OLED at a more reasonable price (16-17k). I definitely don't regret the purchase because the picture is absolutely fabulous. I haven't noticed any problems with the monitor that QD-OLED panels should suffer from. I only noticed flickering occasionally when loading the game, nothing that bothered me much. What I was most worried about was the text readability, yes, after a close examination the readability is really worse than IPS (but nothing terrible), however if I don't have my head right in front of the monitor the readability is absolutely fine. Currently still the best QHD monitor according to RTINGS.
It's my first OLED, so I don't have any other experience with others, but I haven't noticed the typical OLED ailments like harder to read text or a purple tint in black when the sun is shining on the monitor. The text is beautifully legible and crisp even with the nose stuck to the display. Compared to my previous kinda high end IPS monitor - alienware 2723df with 280hz, it mainly stands out contrast and those OLEDovksy deep blacks, which makes a lot of difference in dark scenes (horror fans will appreciate) and then further more vivid colors. However, I didn't notice much difference in the smoothness of the image. All in all, if you need a new monitor and would like to try OLED, the FO27Q2 is a great option at an even greater price (it's now selling for under 16k with alza benefit). It offers great colour, contrast and deep blacks, which you'll appreciate in singleplayer games or HDR movies where the OLED panel shows its strengths. However, if you already have a solid IPS monitor and you only play esport games, BR or extraction shooter games where you're switching brightness, gamma and color saturation to see better in the corner of the cornered opponent, then upgrading to OLED is not worth it because the difference in visibility or smoothness is not so marked to justify the still quite high price tag to upgrade your existing monitor.
