I've tried different grind settings, temperature, amount of water, intensity and it's terrible. I'm sorry, but you can't make it out of milk foam. I'll drink it with milk/foam, then it tastes relatively good, so I won't return it and maybe I'll like it at least with foam, who knows. Unfortunately, it is not good on its own: / It is very earthy, unpleasantly bitter, not even a trace of acidity, has a strange tail and body. As the saying goes, 100 people, 100 tastes, or it just roasted longer than it should have (this is also possible, it can happen). I've tried other coffees and this one is just perfect, much lighter beans, slightly acidic, slightly bitter, and no tail. So rather when buying choose the 250g version and then see. I tried Alza coffee in the shop about a month ago and it tasted completely different and better (that's why I took the whole kilo pack). So I'm betting again on over-roasting the grains. I don't think a better quality coffee machine would make a completely diametrically different coffee. I'm sure there will be a difference, but not that much. I tried it in my office on a coffee maker for about 70k, and then at home on an old lever coffee maker for about 4k years ago. It was almost identical in taste.
