Choosing a reader is a pretty individual thing in my opinion, so there probably isn't a best and worst reader. Everyone will probably like something a little different. I did a comparison of commonly available readers before purchasing opting for the Pocketbook 634 Verse Pro. Weight and compactness were pretty important features for me. I don't want my arms to start hurting when I'm reading in bed at night. I already had experience with the Kindle 3 reader and therefore I know that I missed the display backlighting a lot, it was also one of the reasons for buying a new more modern reader. The 6 inch display is fine for reading I don't need a bigger one. Connecting to the cloud is fine. Just like the Czech environment. The only thing I was worried about before I bought it was the speed of the display response. Yes Kindl seems faster to me but I got used to the occasional slower display refresh response pretty quickly and it's not too bad. And for the actual reading (which is the activity that is done the most with the reader), the speed of redrawing is normal.

Sometimes slower response, but nothing terrible. You can't tell by reading it. More like navigating through menus and settings. I'm primarily a reader, though, so I don't care.

The automatic Czech pre-reading is not fully tuned. It could use some work. I'm sure it'll get better with time. The English readings will probably be tuned out. Good as a stopgap, though. Definitely fine for people with disabilities.
