I previously bought a Sony HT-S40R for 9.5 thousand according to reviews, but returned it the next day because the TV has better sound. This Sony speaker had absolutely nothing, nothing at all. It was a big mess and a waste of money. The Sonos ARC has long had good reviews, perhaps the best. I chose these BEAMs (on discount) a thousand more expensive than the Sony ones. That' s just grease! I also have a HiFi at home for 50,000, but what this soundbar can do for eleven, my jaw dropped. Of course it has to be calibrated, otherwise it' s a disaster. Yes, the space is not like that of boxes for 50, that' s another league,, but still. Anyway, I don' t regret the purchase and in my opinion choose Sonos over JBL or Sony at the same price. You will be pleasantly surprised: -)
Sound
Terribly long setup (iPhone). At first the wifi didn' t catch on, then the application crashed, finally after an hour he connected it to the router with an ethernet cable and everything is fine. Anyway, even so, this courtbar is a piece of cake, and the small flaw of not having wifi is a reason for me to change. We buy it for the sound after all.
The integrated Tidal ( Spotify ) in the Sonos app is just a kind of impoverished environment of this streaming app. It doesn' t really work through it. It would be more user-friendly and much better if I connected to the soundbar via Bluetooth and launched the official Tidal app.
When I play Tidal, the volume control of the sound bar with the volume buttons from the mobile does not work. Volume is controlled by opening the Sonos app and using the slider to adjust the volume. Horrible, but you get used to it. After a while, you won' t even feel it anymore.
Despite these shortcomings, I am not selling the speaker and I am keeping it. it has a really good sound.
