I'm not an audiophile and I want true-wireless headphones mainly because of the compactness and the fact that the cable doesn't tangle anywhere. I listen in the evening before bed or during sports and use the headphones for online meetings. For the first two, these headphones are not suitable, for the meeting they would be fine, if they did not fall out of my ears. Contrary to other comments, I had no problem with gripping and taking the headphones out of the box, they stick out enough.
Well crafted box
The black matte color of the box is definitely more practical than the glossy white of other headphones
Lazy foam plugs are more comfortable than traditional rubber plugs
It doesn't fit in my ears. They push and sometimes fall out even when I don't make any violent movements.
Sensitive touch button, impossible to adjust the position of the earpiece in the ear and not click.
They do not turn themselves off when removed from the ears or when inactive for a long time. Laid out on the bedside table, they were down to 1% by morning. Even though the Bluetooth on my phone was turned off.

I was perfectly happy with the XM4, especially the sound - until the battery died after a year, but that's another story. I expected more from the XM5.
Compared to XM4 better earbuds, smaller housing, more control options, longer lasting.
Overbassed sound with suppressed mids that can't even be properly equalized. Listeners of techno or hip hop will find it to their liking, but it is absolutely unsuitable for guitar music. The previous XM4s may not be perfect in terms of metal, but in this respect they easily surpass them.
Glossy finish. Aside from the appearance, at least taking the headphones out of the case is more difficult than it should be.
The touch sensor sometimes stops working. The headphones then need to be put in the case and taken out again to start responding.

Absolutely top-notch headphones, which in my opinion have no competition among mainstream headphones at the moment. I have had the previous two generations of this model and the new model has always been a step up. Compared to the XM3, these have a box about a third the size of the Airpods. And at the same time, compared to the XM4, the box doesn't look so "plastic" anymore, it is nicely rubberized and with a better hinge. I've been using Sennheiser Momentum TWS 3 for the last few months and the box is a few levels further away, but you probably don't buy headphones for the box: ) The earbuds are a bit smaller than the XM4's and, more importantly, lighter, so I almost don't even know I have them in my ears. The only thing I would criticise is the glossy surface around the touch pad, so you need to keep your fingers dry when inserting it into your ear, otherwise the earpiece will slide around. The sound probably doesn't need any analysis. It is the absolute top of the market, just like the previous models. I was surprised by the Noise Cancelling, which is a bit better than before. In short, these are top headphones that Sony has managed to take to the next level again, even with the reduction in size and weight.

I don't understand how anyone can review this product as awful, with terrible sound. Probably a professional audiophile, comparing to big wired headphones for 20k or more, or a person who hasn't actually had them in their ears. These are earbuds, for God's sake. And in this category they are currently unrivalled. I've used the Airpods Pro 2 for quite a while before, and these Sony headphones are a bit further along. Compact, great sound, even better ANC, comfortable. Sony has not disappointed again and cannot but recommend it.
