Mini RGB evo for Precise and Vivid Colours
The LG 86MRGB88B9B uses 4K Mini RGB technology, which is designed for more accurate colour reproduction and an impressive visual experience on the big screen. Tandem LED technology layers several RGB colour layers to help achieve more vivid colour reproduction. Thanks to RGB Primary Colour Pro, the TV has dual 100% colour volume certification for the DCI-P3 and Adobe RGB standards, so you'll appreciate the rich shades when watching films, series, sports, and photos.
Higher Contrast with Precision Dimming
Precision Dimming technology helps to control the backlighting more precisely and improve contrast in individual scenes. The Alpha 8 AI 4K Gen3 processor intelligently works with light, dimming blocks, brightness, and details to make the picture more impressive and natural. The LG 86MRGB88B9B smart TV can therefore better render dark and light parts of the image and enhance the cinematic experience on its large 86" screen size.
Alpha 8 AI 4K Gen3 Processor
The Alpha 8 AI 4K Gen3 processor handles the image and sound processing. It uses artificial intelligence for a sharper 4K picture, more vivid colours, and better content adaptation to your preferences. Compared to the previous generation, it offers up to 5× faster NPU performance, so it has enough power for advanced AI functions, image optimisation, and a personalised smart environment.
AI Picture with Upscaling to 4K
AI Super Upscaling helps to enhance the image to 4K quality, while Dynamic Tone Mapping Pro adjusts the brightness and details in individual scenes. AI Picture Pro recognises content and supports its sharper and more natural rendering. There is also AI HDR Remastering, which can optimise the colour, brightness, and contrast of SDR content to make it appear richer.
Cinematic Picture with Dolby Vision and FILMMAKER MODE
The LG 86MRGB88B9B TV supports Dolby Vision, HDR10, and HLG, so you'll enjoy content with more striking contrast, colour depth, and better detail rendering. FILMMAKER MODE helps to keep the cinematic image as close as possible to the creators' original intent and can adapt to the surrounding environment for more comfortable viewing.
Surround Sound with AI Sound
The built-in 20W speaker is complemented by Dolby Atmos and AI Sound technology. The TV can adjust the sound according to the content type, enhance voices, music, and sound effects, and create a virtual 11.1.2 surround effect. This makes watching films, sports, and concerts much more intense, and the sound fills the room better. There's also AI Object Remastering Pro, which helps to enhance voices and key sound elements in a scene.
webOS 26 with Multi AI Features
The webOS 26 operating system offers a clear smart environment with advanced artificial intelligence features. Multi AI combines search, personalisation, and smart assistants, so you can more easily find content, get recommendations, or manage your TV settings. The LG 86MRGB88B9B supports AI Search, AI Concierge, AI Voice ID with My Page, AI Chatbot, and AI Picture/Sound Wizard.
AI Magic Remote for Easier Control of the LG 86MRGB88B9B
The AI Magic Remote provides quick access to the TV's smart features. A single AI button takes you to the artificial intelligence functions, while the scroll wheel and voice control make it easy to navigate menus, search for content, and operate the LG 86MRGB88B9B TV.

LG Shield helps protect your privacy, data, and system integrity. It uses 7 key security technologies that ensure secure data storage and management, encryption, user authentication, access control, secure data transmission, and responses to security incidents. This makes the webOS smart environment ready for working with personal accounts and connected services.
webOS Re: New Programme
The webOS Re: New programme helps keep the LG 86MRGB88B9B TV up-to-date for the long term. For selected models, it offers software updates for up to 5 years, so you can look forward to new features, user interface improvements, and support for modern services even after purchasing the TV.
LG Gallery+ Turns the LG 86MRGB88B9B Screen into Part of Your Interior
When you're not watching TV, it can become a stylish home accessory. LG Gallery+ offers access to works of art, ambient videos, and other visual content that turns the screen into a unique canvas. You can also use Google Photos, display your own memories, or supplement the visual content with music. The picture can also adapt to the ambient light conditions thanks to automatic brightness control.
Personalised Control Panel
The LG 86MRGB88B9B smart TV can display important information in one place. On the personalised control panel, you can check the weather, sports event notifications, Google Calendar, viewing reservations, or information from the Home Hub. The TV thus serves not only for watching content but also as a practical hub for home information.
Home Hub for a Smart Home
Home Hub connects smart devices in your home and allows for convenient control directly on the TV screen. The LG 86MRGB88B9B supports connections with LG ThinQ, Google Home, and Matter standard devices, so you can manage compatible smart products from one place, monitor their status, and control them with ease. The TV supports both Google Cast and Apple AirPlay, so you can easily share content from your phone, tablet, or laptop to the large 86" screen. The Multi View function allows you to display multiple sources simultaneously, which is useful for watching sports, sharing content from your mobile, or working with multiple types of entertainment at once.
LG Channels for More Entertainment
LG Channels brings a variety of content from live broadcasts and on-demand offerings into one clear hub. This makes it easier to discover new shows, films, and other content directly within the webOS environment without complicated searching.
Gaming Features for Smooth Gameplay
The LG 86MRGB88B9B is also ready for gaming. It offers a native 120Hz panel, VRR up to 144Hz, AMD FreeSync Premium, ALLM, HGiG, and a Game Dashboard for quick access to gaming settings. Motion Booster 288 helps reduce motion blur and support a smoother response when gaming at an optimised resolution. The gaming equipment is also complemented by Dolby Vision support for games in 4K at 120Hz.
Ultra-Low Latency Bluetooth
The LG 86MRGB88B9B also thinks about cloud gaming with wireless controllers. The TV supports Bluetooth controllers with ultra-low latency, which helps to reduce input lag to less than 2.5ms. This allows you to enjoy smoother and more responsive control that more closely resembles a wired connection.
LG Gaming Portal
The LG Gaming Portal serves as a practical hub for discovering games. It provides access to gaming apps, cloud services, and games controllable with the remote or a gamepad. This allows gamers to easily find new content and quickly get to their favourite titles directly from the TV's interface.
WOW Orchestra for Connecting with an LG Soundbar
When connected to a compatible LG soundbar, you can use WOW Orchestra technology. This synchronises the sound from the TV and the soundbar into a single whole to create a fuller, more spatial audio experience. This feature is particularly useful for films, concerts, and sports broadcasts, where you'll appreciate a wider and more pronounced soundstage.
