TMR joysticks
The controller uses TMR joysticks with a 12-bit ADC sampling chip. These components exhibit high sensitivity and wear resistance, while consuming less power. The sticks are surrounded by wear-resistant protective rings, which extend the life of the mechanical parts. Motion control works when connected to the Nintendo Switch console.
Controls on the 8BitDo Ultimate 2 Black - Nintendo Switch gamepad
The Hall effect triggers offer the option to switch between linear and non-linear modes of operation. This allows the player to adjust the press travel according to the specific game genre. On the back, there are remappable R4 and L4 bumpers for quick reactions without the need for software intervention. These are complemented by two pro-level rear buttons.
Haptic button feedback
The manufacturer has recalibrated the directional D-pad and top bumpers for a smooth click feel and precise response. The buttons remain lightweight while maintaining a firm press and fast response during intense gameplay. The technical features include vibration for feedback and precise analogue sticks.
Charging dock
The controller automatically pairs with your gaming device when removed from the dock. The 2.4GHz wireless connection with the included USB-C adapter maintains a stable signal transmission without dropouts. The integrated battery powers the controller during long gaming sessions.
Software settings
Support for the 8BitDo Ultimate V2 program gives you access to detailed configuration of all controls. In the interface, you can change stick sensitivity, adjust the trigger range, or regulate the vibration intensity. Users can save settings to three profiles and switch between them with a physical button. You can also create complex macros in the interface.
Lighting effects
There is an RGB light ring around the joysticks with several lighting modes. Players can choose from a fire circle mode, a rainbow ring mode, or an interactive light tracking mode. These lighting effects react in real time to in-game situations, creating visual effects during gameplay. The controller's look is complemented by its white colour finish. The controller can also be used for co-op play by connecting another compatible device.
