The sequel shortens its name from Gears of War to simply Gears 5. The heroine is Kait, a friend of the previous game's protagonist, J. D. Fenix. This means we can expect a gradual rotation of characters in the new series, which is certainly an interesting way to tell the story.
The fifth instalment of the successful Gears of War series is being released during 2019 and also bears the slightly altered name, Gears 5. Kait, the friend of the previous game's main hero, will take the leading role. Marcus Fenix will also return, without whom the series would lose some of its charm. The announcement trailer suggests a focus on the story, and the creators promise an adventure in the most beautiful and largest world we have ever seen in the series.
